12 members attended a dyeing workshop at Christine Chester’s studio in Eastbourne.
We tried several dyeing techniques – full immersion with one colour and low immersion in trays with 3 or 4 colours. We tried tie-dyeing, pleating round a bottle, rolling sticks in a piece of fabric and just scrunching fabric.
We left the workshop with lots of wet fabric – not really getting to see the results until we got home. The most difficult part was rinsing out the dye which took a lot of time and water! However the workshop was interesting and a challenge, doing something of which the majority had no real experience. I was pleased with the results I got.
