10th March 2016
Our March workshop day dawned cold and grey, but soon Berwick hall came alive with members unpacking a profusion of wonderful bright fabrics, ready for the Anja Townrow treatment.
Anja demonstrated her freezer paper foundation piecing method, and sharp points were guaranteed, providing we followed the method!
We returned to our tables, traced the templates and ironed them on to our fabrics. Then the fun started. Considerable concentration was required to master the technique, and a fair bit of unpicking was involved for some of us. But soon we all had the knack of it, and slowly our pieced flowers appeared. Anja showed us how to join the blocks without bulky seams and how to attach prairie points to finish.
We all enjoyed the day, and are looking forward to seeing the quilts and wallhangings which will result, over the next weeks, months and maybe even years!
My flower is going to turn into a book-cover, one day.
