Maggie North, Heather Downie, Julia Cockell and Kathryn Greig worked on this project for the Linklater Pavilion at the Railway Fields in Lewes.
The Linklater quilt taking shape
“Children from seven local schools worked on 8inch (ish!) blocks showing animals, birds and insects found in the Railway Fields nature reserve, and we put them together in hexagonal quilts. It was a challenge, but was seriously successful. It was great watching/listening to the kids as they looked for and found their own blocks.”
Ouse Valley Quilters was formed in 1994. It was a Lewes based group with five sub-groups in the surrounding areas, and a membership of 44. Now in 2018 we are still based in Lewes but with 11 sub-groups and over 100 members.
Currently there is a waiting list to join the group. Read more about Ouse Valley Quilters here.
We meet on the fourth Tuesday of each month at 7.30pm (excluding December).
The venue is Cliffe Hall, Cliffe High Street, Lewes, East Sussex, BN7 2AH.
